Honey don't-cha know, I'm more than Pac-Man with a bow!

Self-Critique: the whipping parts of the tips of her hair could've been executed better. On the raised arm, I could've jutted her elbow out more, or shaded in the elbow differently.

And here's the other lady that is the actual wife to a well known videogame hero, Pac-man. Got thinking of drawing her almost immediately after thinking of Mrs. Game & Watch. In the concept sketch phase, Ms. Pac-man took on Mrs. Game & Watch's old hairstyle after I decided to switch it to her. The hair was styled partly after Farrah Fawcett's hair, which became a popular style around the 70s and 80s. As for the the depiction of Ms. Pac Man and her accessories, I had a few references to go by. One of them of course being the official art of Ms. Pac-Man from Namco. The others was her depiction from the old arcade ads from Bally-Midway, and the in-game 3D model from Namco Museum Vol. 3. I brought in the boa from the arcade ad, the and white gloves from the Namco Museum model. The eyes of course were gonna be the pac-eyes. Though partway through I started wondering if should add the whites of the eyes in. I added them, and it looked okay. But I decided to remove them to keep the retro aesthetic of no eye-whites.What I did decide to however was to add sparkles to her bow, boa, and gloves to make her look really fancy.

It was pretty much set that the background would be a maze. “But which one?” I asked myself. Early on during her shading process, I kept thinking in my head that I'd be putting the blue wireframe one. But that's Pac-Man's, so that was a no-go. But I still wanted to put down a blue maze, and one with a spot that she could sit on. I remember Ms. Pac-Man having a dark blue maze after the orange one. But it's so difficult to get to, I don't know how many people even know it exists! I thought of the light blue maze, But there wasn't a good spot for her to sit. So I eventually settled on her famous pink maze, the first one ever shown in the game that everybody knows, and situated her on the lower-right section of it. From there, I picked several pieces from that maze and arranged them in the spots you see now. The hard part was getting the perspectives right for each one. I was futzing around with the perspective tool and trying to follow the horizon schematic I drew. Eventually stopped myself and went “okay, it's good, don't do anymore!” The easiest part of this entire image was the dots everywhere! All I had to do was draw one, then duplicate it over and over again!

And finally, those poor ghosts! The situation here is that she already at the 2 huddled in the “ghost house” and they're afraid to come back out. The eyes, if you know the game well, is from a ghost she just ate (hence the drool on her tongue). So there's only one ghost left on the maze, and... well, you be the judge of how he feels right now!

Done on Clip Studio Paint Pro. Intuos4 Tablet used. Body-chan model traced for schematic skeleton, then drawn freehand the rest of the way.
